Off-Road

If you have ev er watched the movie, Cast Away, you would know that how Tom Hank spent long time on a deserted island. Here is a similar story about Adam Jones, who spent almost 9 years being trapped on a deserted island, but with the help of Google Earth, he was rescued recently! Here is how he spent 9 years there!Adam Jones set off for a journey in 2006, along with his 2 friends, starting from Liverpool, their home, to Hawaii. In between they had to cross Atlantic Ocean and the Panama Canal. As they reached in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a monstrous storm struck their boat violently, and damaged it along with their electronic equipment. His friends went overboard while Adam was knocked by the storm unconscious for about 17 days, and he kept drifting in the ocean. Adam spent 2 weeks on his boat but he built on his own the water trapping contrivance on it, and this way he saved a lot of water whenever it rained. At first he built a makeshift shelter out of boat debris, but it was

Kawasaki ZX-770R Concept

Image
While Kawasaki is known for great motorcycle designs, Dutch designer Sabino Leerentveld drew up this unique super car concept called the Kawasaki ZX-770R. It was inspired by the KTM X-BOW, which is a four wheel car also made by popular motorcycle manufacturer ABT. This Kawasaki super car would be extremely light, weighing in at only 500 kg or 1,100 pounds. Power would come from a plentiful V6 turbocharged powerplant, which is said to develop a whopping 770 horsepower. This is more than enough for a car this size, and has us questioning if the wheels would even be able to stick to the pavement. Nevertheless, at the track the Kawasaki ZX-770R supercar concept would have breathtaking acceleration and top speeds, while also being able to handle like a dream. If not Kawasaki, hopefully some motorcycle or car manufacturer will take up on this concept because it looks to have the potential of a best seller. Stay tuned for more updates about the Kawasaki ZX-770R concept car in the future. sour

Student Designs New Honda S2000 Concept

Image
It’s been over 10 years since the Honda S2000 came into production and car enthusiasts worldwide had to get their hands on one. Honda has sold over 112,000 of the unique sports car that was originally a concept model called the SSM (Sport Study Model) back in 1995 at the Tokyo Motor Show. The RWD Honda roadster packed a punch with the 2.0-liter four cylinder DOHC VTEC that many fell in love with. There have been rumors of a replacement for the Honda S2000, so a design student named Michael Mcgee came up with this interesting concept for the year 2020. If you are looking to purchase a Honda then they have a huge range of cars available. They have so model for each category of car and are also known for their fantastic reliance and durability. Why not try a Hybrid model such as the Honda CR-Z or a more family suited cas such as the Honda Civic. source: http://fancytuning.com

Scion FR-S Concept Is So Hot, We Can Taste It

Image
After the most difficult gestation since someone decided “Spiderman” needed to be a musical, the Scion FR-S Concept finally appeared at the New York Auto Show, carrying the hopes for a true compact rear-wheel-drive sports car — actually coated in candy. The latest iteration of the Toyota-Subaru joint venture known as the FT-86 appeared with a body that makes a pledge to uphold Toyota chief Akio Toyoda’s pledge to put some passion back into the company’s vehicles. Blunt, smooth and compact, yet with the long hood of a proper rear-wheel-drive car, the FR-S should easily be the most handsome Scion ever, when a production version appears within a year. Toyota only revealed partial information about the heart of the FR-S, saying it would sport a 2.0-liter boxer engine of unspecified power tweaked with a Toyota direct-injection system, paired with six-speed transmissions of either manual or automatic stirring. It’s such an attractive car — the kind of sports coupe forgotten in a rush to fuel

Subaru BRZ STI Concept

Image
Subaru had this tease on display at the 2011 LA Auto Show called the Subaru BRZ STI Concept. Although it is not in production, this is one of the first Subaru sports cars we have seen that is not all-wheel-drive nor turbocharged. While it still holds the famous Subaru four-cylinder boxer engine, this is one of the first live appearances of what the Subaru BRZ STI will look like. At the exterior is a large wing that jumps out and is somewhat typical Subaru styling. Since the BRZ won’t be as fast as the original STI because of the lacking turbocharger and AWD, it will make up for this by cutting weight. Performance parts such as Bembo brakes all around are still present, while we look forward to possibly having a carbon fiber roof being an option for some customers. source: fancytuning.com

Bertone Mantide goes from blush to pale, looks better for it

Image
Love it or loathe it, the Bertone Mantide is one of the most striking automotive designs of the decade, and coupled with the Corvette ZR1's performance, Jason Castriota has created one of the most exclusive supercars in recent memory. The second of ten Mantides has been delivered to its new owner before its official unveiling at the Dubai Auto Show next month, and -- to our eyes -- its all-white paint scheme looks even better than the original red example that debuted earlier this year. Castriota has since left StileBertone and moved back to New York to pursue other endeavors. In addition to tackling the fashion and industrial design world, he's working on a new line of footwear that's expected to be revealed sometime in 2010. While a new set of kicks would be the perfect compliment to the machined aluminum throttle on the angular, LS9-powered coupe, we wouldn't be surprised to see Castriota tackling another automotive project in the future given his penchant for both s

2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Previewed in Wild HCD-14 Concept

Image
Hyundai shocked the motoring world back in 2008 by launching a rear-wheel-drive luxury car, the Genesis. Five years later and the company is still pushing the envelope. At the Detroit Auto Show this morning it just revealed its vision for the next version of this car. Called the HCD-14 Genesis, this sleekly styled sedan is very likely the shape of things to come. John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America said the concept reveals the future design direction for the company’s upcoming premium vehicles. Since their respective introductions, the Genesis and Equus nameplates have been doing surprisingly well, garnering a combined 9 percent market share (Genesis Coupe included). They’ve been performing better than the Hyundai brand overall, which has been on fire. Additionally, they’ve had very strong residual values as reported by ALG. The HCD-14 is designed to build on this success. The car wears a so-called “fluidic-precision, liquid metal” design language. According to Hyu

DeltaWing Indycar concept

Image
As we speak, the IZOD IndyCar series is looking over a number of proposals for the next generation of open-wheel racecars. One of those, the design from Dallara, has already been shown. Today at the Chicago Auto Show, DeltaWing pulled the covers off its design proposal, and the machine looks completely different from anything we've yet seen circling the Brickyard. At first glance, a couple of interesting features jump out, not the least of which are the giant vertical rear wing and super-skinny front track. The cars also seem much longer than current Indycars, though we'd need to see the two machines next to one another to come to any real conclusions on the matter. In any case, DeltaWing has a pretty radical design on its hands. Plus, Chip Ganassi Racing's Ben Bowlby, who formerly led design at Lola, is behind the effort. See for yourself in our high-res image gallery below and make the jump for an animated video of the DeltaWing buzzing around Mid-Ohio. source:autoblog.co
