Two Boys Were Digging In The Yard When They Uncovered THIS. But That’s Only Half The Story. -...

Image
What’s the most incredible or unusual thing you might find in your backyard? Say you pick up a metal detector and find an old coin, or perhaps comes across an arrowhead. That’s all well and good, but nothing even comes close to what two California boys found in 1978. Because these kids found a Ferrari ! This is the front yard in a Los Angeles neighborhood where the vehicular treasure was discovered in early February of 1978. A new family had just moved into the house when their two boys struck gold. The family called the authorities, and an excavation began. It turned out that the car was actually an insanely valuable 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS. The car had been poorly mummified with towels and cloths. It was obvious that someone wanted to come back for it. But who? And why did they bury it? After an investigation by the police, the nefarious reason as to why it was down there was discovered. The previous owners hired criminals to drive the car into the ocean so they could claim the ins

Apple OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 review

Image
A lot has changed since early 2001. We’ve got a new president approaching the end of his first term, the US has embarked on two major wars and the words “Lady Gaga” have become much more than just gibberish. Some things, however, don’t change. In nearly each of these intervening years, Apple has issued a major update to its desktop operating system, OS X. This time last year, the company issued OS 10.7 Lion, a king-of-the-jungle moniker many thought would mark the end of Apple’s big cat naming scheme and, by extension, the OS X lineage. In February, however, the old operating system showed she still had some life left in her, when the next edition was revealed, arriving over the summer and called Mountain Lion. Based on the name alone, you’d think 10.8 would be a modest improvement over its predecessor — not unlike the baby step between Leopard (10.5) and Snow Leopard (10.6). But Apple insists that this latest build is more than just a seasonal refresh — in all, it boasts more than 200

Multi-Touch Keyboard and Mouse by Jason Giddings

Image
Multi-Touch keyboards and mice are the next generation in computer peripherals. These elegant well made devices are composed of quality tempered glass, a solid metal base, and the finest components. They are designed using simple existing technology and have no moving parts. They have rechargeable Lithium Polymer batteries and are completely wireless. The tactile sounds and lighting can be turned on or off per the users' preference plus they are coffee and doughnut resistant! The design is based on a touch screen technology known as FTIR or Frustrated Total Internal Reflection. There are basically infrared LEDs placed at the edge of the glass. In this case, they are hidden inside holes where the glass is mounted to the metal base. Because of the low angle at which the light impacts the internal glass surface, it is bounced around inside the glass, much like looking through a tube to see the reflections on the inside walls. When the glass is touched it frustrates the reflection and t

Old Hard Drives Turned Into Awesome Cars, Bikes, and Robots

Image
This brilliant idea is comes from Miguel Rivera, he turned the old hard drive into awesome Sculpture. His first designed using standard 3.5-inch hard drive to create a cool car design. This designed took 33 hard drives and whole weekend to fabricate. “The overall concept was to make something out of just hard drive parts and pieces,” says Rivera. “I wanted it to look solid and heavy so I leaned towards just using metal — no plastic or gluing things together.” The Second Creation is a mini car which took 29 hard drives, the third creation is a fat boy motorcycle and the most difficult of his creation is the robot. This robot is created with using 14 laptop hard drive with 18 additional discs from gutted hard drives and spare parts. Miguel Rivera said  “This piece allowed me to show off some internal pieces of hard drives I wasn’t able to incorporate with any of the other pieces like using the armatures as weapons.” http://winarco.com

THE NEW IPHONE 5

Image
When we envisioned the new iPhone, we landed on a remarkably thin and light design. But it’s nearly impossible to make a device so thin and so light without sacrificing features or performance. We could have taken the easy way out and designed something more reasonable and less remarkable. But we didn’t. If the technology didn’t exist, we invented it. If a component wasn’t small enough, we re-imagined it. If convention was standing in the way, we left it behind. The result is iPhone 5: the thinnest, lightest, fastest iPhone ever.   iPhone 5 is just 7.6 millimeters thin. To make that happen, Apple engineers had to think small, component by component. They created a nano-SIM card, which is 44 percent smaller than a micro-SIM. They also developed a unique cellular solution for iPhone 5. The conventional approach to building LTE into a world phone uses two chips — one for voice, one for data. On iPhone 5, both are on a single chip. The intelligent, reversible Lightning connector is
