Cumberland Log Cabin Kit from $16,348

1. While many people around the world are looking for a more sustainable form of building houses, there is a way that has been around for centuries that we can still use today! Take this gorgeous log cabin for example, this log home would be the perfect home for the whole family. The wonderful thing about log homes is that they have so many benefits over conventional dry wall homes. 2. Log homes and cabins are very sustainable, as they are made from renewable materials that come from the Earth. Most of the logs used to build these log homes and cabins come from sustainable tree plantations, where the trees are used for their wood, and then more are planted in their place to grow into more trees for more logs. This is a better way of going about this process, rather than just chopping down any tree, so that we can keep the ancient growth forests alive, with their habitats thriving. 3. Amish Cabin Company, is a log cabin kit building company that provides log cabin kits. The company work

HARDCORE HORSEPOWER BUILDS A STREETABLE 820HP BLOWN SMALL-BLOCK

Image
Building a supercharged engine with a traditional Roots-style GMC blower is about the quickest way to add power and draw attention to your vehicle at the same time. Other types of superchargers may be more efficient and fit comfortably under the hoods of most cars. But if you don’t mind cutting a little sheet metal to clear a fat blower case, and you don’t mind bending your neck occasionally to see around that obtrusive air scoop–then a “Jimmie” blower is for you. The GMC-style blower was a bit temperamental if not unpredictable when it first appeared on street machines in the ‘60s. Over the years, numerous supercharger shops have refined their setups and developed parts with tighter tolerances and increased durability. Additional improvements in supporting players like camshaft design, ignition options and carburetor tuning have more than tamed the big beast. But challenges still remain to building a supercharged engine for the street, especially if you’re looking for 900 horsepower o

World’s smallest Chevrolet 327 V8 engine

Image
When this Chevy V8 engine was introduced back in 1962 it was the most powerful production small-block V8 untill LS6 came in 2001. 327 cubic engine was single-cam, natural aspirated. One of the petrolheads, Jim Moyer, expressed his respect to this engine by building its miniature -- the 1/6th scale model that actually works. Jim spend a lot of time fabricating all the parts -- block, head, crank, pistons, cam and others. The mini engine has spark ignition, oil system that are exactly like the ones from 327 muscle. Even though it works quite well, this Chevrolet V8 mini engine still need improvements in order to run it longer: water-pump, carburetor, valve caps. source:amcarguide.com

How to Clean Your Engine Compartment

Image
Engines run cooler and more efficiently when a thick film of crud doesn’t interfere with heat transfer। This is especially important with modern engines that operate hotter in more compact engine compartments. Clean engines make it easier to see oil, automatic transmission and coolant leaks and monitor the condition of drive belts. Dirt and dust also can cause premature wear of components and belts. And it’s much more pleasant to make repairs in a clean engine compartment. If you need just one more reason to keep your engine spotless, consider that keeping engines free of oil and fuel-soaked gunk goes a long way toward preventing underhood fires. ..  more »

1400 HP 10.4 liter twin-turbo V8 from Nelson Racing Engines

Image
The SEMA show has brought us an infinity of custom goodies and some of these are more special than others. We’re here to zoom in on a creation that can literally move mountains: a powerplant that comes from Nelson Racing Engines. We are talking about a V8 unit with a displacement of 10.4 liters, which uses a twin-turbo setup to deliver 1,420 hp and 1,400 lb-ft (1,896 Nm) of torque... on pump gas. Curious to see what happens when you fill the tank with race juice? The output explodes to 2,332 hp and 2,100 lb-ft (2,844 Nm), a value that requires a rock-solid transmission. The monstrous powerplant can be yours for $52,000 (EUR32,200 at the current exchange rates). In case you’re wandering is this is one of those projects that only sounds good on paper, we have to tell you that the company has a strong reputation for building monsters like this. source: autoevolution.com

Building The Engine For a Special COPO Camaro – Video

Image
Back in October Chevrolet made a very special COPO Camaro Convertible model to be auctioned off to benefit the American Heart Association. This being a special project, GM sent Jim Campbell, vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports, down to the assembly line to personally put the engine for this car together. Assembling a 550 hp 327 V8 with a 4.0 liter supercharger looks like great fun to us, especially when it serves a good cause.            source: motorward.com
