Golden Batmobile will help Bruce Wayne blend in with his homies from the hood

Image
Bruce Wayne AKA Batman may be worth $6.9 billion according to the 2012 Forbes Fictional 15 (which ranks fictional characters according to their net worth) but were sure that the billionaire playboy/nerd in disguise/vigilante would never go around flashing his moolah in this rather tacky looking gold-finished Batmobile. An insult to the classic vehicle that has garnered cult status over the years for being classy, sophisticated and just oh-so-masculine, this golden Batmobile doppelganger created by the good folks over at Gotham Garage is one of the finest examples of why covering vehicles in gold is one of the more worthless things you can do as a custom automaker/tuner.In the fictional universe of DC comics, Batman is one of the less bizarre superheroes even though he too insists on wearing his underwear on top of his pants, has a penchant for capes, boots and weird headgear and his daily commuter of choice, the iconic Batmobile, has been hailed as one the of most realistic bits of tec

Maserati Kuba CUV Concept

Image
Automotive designer Andrey Trofimchuk has developed what he feels should be Maserati’s first crossover utility vehicle.  The Maserati Kuba CUV Concept would be a bold new direction for Maserati, but one that only continues its design heritage with the trident logo alone.  Everything else on the Kuba is new to Maserati, from headlight to taillight.  While we appreciate Trofimchuk’s vision, we have a feeling that the Kuba may end up in the same territory as the Pontiak Aztek– a love it or hate it car that inspires passionate opinions in both directions, but not satisfying Maserati’s core.  However, if you are in the “love it” crow, you’ll likely really, really love it.  Both opinions aside, we do salute Andrey Trofimchuk for the sheer visual quality of his work.  These are some truly realistic renders… [cardesign.ru via worldcarfans]

Milan Abarth Supercar

Image
It was unveiled last week in Monaco, and while it may have some influences in its design, mainly from older racing cars, it is, dare we say it, unique. However, if its racecar-esque looks don`t win you over, its proposed power figure definitely will, as the Milan Abarth is said to be available with power outputs ranging from 600 hp, all the way up to 1,700 hp. Also, thanks to its very low curb weight of just over one tonne, if it has the right tires and gearing, it could sprint to 100 km/h or 62 mph in around two seconds (that could mean both under and over the specified value). Set to cost from €300,000, the car will be unveiled with official formalities in February of next year.

Vision SZR

Image
The brand new supercar Vision SZR, that took part in the series “Done in 60 seconds”, will be equipped with a 6 liter V12 engine that produces 700 HP. A different version will also be produced, for the emptier pockets, powered by a 620 HP 6.2 liter V8, according to the upper-mentioned show. The heaviest configuration will barely go above 1300 kg, given the fact that it is well-covered in carbon fiber and aluminum. This also ensures acceleration from naught to 100 kph in less than 4 seconds. John Misumi, the chief operating engineer, thinks of it as a muscle car for the 21st century. The development process started in the middle 1990s, with a redesigning in 2005. Two reasons make this car undesirable to many: first – there is only one Vision SZR in the world, with a production cost of around $2 million and second – its design, resembling the 1990 Chevy Corvette CERV III concept car, in a twisted way. source: http://luxatic.com

Corvette Z06 1953

Image
Regarding performance, the car is powered by an LS1 generation III V8 that can develop 405 HP, but the fuel consumption of 28 miles to a gallon gives it a very low autonomy – though it probably won’t hurt much due to the fact that its purpose is to shine into everyone’s eyes. Another advantage is the high level of comfort, even at high rev. This particular car has already run for 8,900 miles but its old beauty and style isn’t bruised at all. Its price tag, set at $69,000, is way under what it would value in our eyes.

Lotus Evora R2R

BAC Mono single-seater race car

Image
The body of the vehicle is made out of carbon fiber, for reduced weight and great resistance, while the manufacturers have hidden a 2.3l Cosworth engine that develops up to 280 HP under the bonnet. All that power is controlled and distributed by a 6-speed sequential gear-box and transmission along with a limited-slip differential. Even if the power doesn’t seem to put it in the supercar class, it’s to remember that the BAC Mono Seat Single Racer weighs only 1,190 lbs and has a power to weight ratio of 520HP/ton, which is great, superior to even a Bugatti Veyron or any Ferraris and Lamborghinis out there. That means only 1 thing – speed! The 170 mph-top-speed beast-car accelerates from naught to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and from naught to 100mph in 6.7. This is a great means of entertainment, but keep in mind that all that power needs attention, during driving sessions, or it may turn against you. It costs $130,000, a bargain if your pockets are large enough. source: luxatic.com
