It's common to hear horror stories about people who have had terrible experiences with mechanics. Complaints about being swindled, cheated, over overcharged are common, but what about mechanics who have had to deal with dumb customers? Some people deal with car troubles their own way, ignoring warnings from their vehicle or using duct tape to fix the problem, leaving mechanics scratching their heads. There's the Problem The owner of this Volkswagen Jetta came to the conclusion that they were dealing with an air leak, so they wrapped their airflow meter and intake hose with tape. It wasn't duct tape and easily removed, but the mechanic wasn't happy about having to fiddle with this. #1 Gliding on the Highway Turning on this tire must have been like riding a slip and slide. Dodge announced it will offer the “Redline” package in its R/T V8 model. This package was previously restricted to the V6 Challenger. The Challenger R/T Redline will debut at the Chicago Auto Show next week. The car is powered by a 5.7-L HEMI V8 which produces 375 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent to the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic with wheel-mounted paddle shifters and a selectable “sport” mode. The redline package had made its debut last year at the New York Auto Show on the V6 model. The package mixed with V8 power brings the same 20-inch wheels along with other performance enhancements. These include a stiffened suspension, bigger brakes, re-calibrated steering and a host of appearance tweaks. The wheels feature a thin red stripe around the outer edge that matches similar stripes outlining a thick red line running over the car. Forgiato Wheels have revealed a Widebody Dodge Challenger fitted with the Disegno wheels that match with its front grille. The Orange themed Challenger features black trim at various points. The wheels are designed to complement that by having similar black ascents to their finish. They come with an orange lip and Forgiato signature centercaps to complete the package. The Widebody package, like all packages of its type, reveals a bigger and bolder Challenger with such details as wide front fenders, wide rear quarter panel extensions among other add-ons.

Check out this car, a Dodge Viper with a Saab 9-3 stationwagon body on top, proving that anything is possible when you use your imagination and have the right tools for the job. A team of Swedish tuners took on this Viper project after they originally bought it for a rebuild, then spare parts were difficult to come by, so the plans changed. Looks like it worked out well since they now have a Saab 9-3 powered by a SRT10 Viper engine. However, this custom build wasn’t easy because the V10 8.4-liter powerplant was too big for the engine bay, and it had to be pushed inside the cabin some. I’m listing both versions of the ’69 Coronet muscle car here, because they are both very similar (and very cool), but each one has its own unique advantages. The R/T option designation was available on several Dodge models starting back in 1967, and signified “road/track” performance. In 1969, many Mopar fans opted for the slightly less expensive Coronet Super Bee (boasting its unique logo in the rear-end bumble-bee striping). This was Dodge’s equivalent to the Plymouth Roadrunner, and as such, was equally minus many luxury features, making it lighter in weight as compared to the R/T. Super Bees are also much more common, especially those equipped with the base 383 cid (over 24,000 units sold), which was not even available in the R/T. A few Super Bees came with either the bigger 440 six-pack or the 426 twin-four Hemi. The R/T was only offered with the 440 Magnum or the Hemi.
