6 Drivers You Don't Want To Share The Road With

Image
When you think about it, it's amazing that we as humans have adapted to driving at all. The idea that an average citizen can be trusted with a metal box capable of traveling over 100 miles an hour would boggle the minds of our ancestors, but it's taken for granted today. Yet for some people, that level of comfort can turn into something more dangerous: carelessness. Whether they're drinking, texting or just not paying attention to their surroundings, people who don't take driving seriously can threaten their own safety and that of others. So, for the next time you're wondering why there are so many PSAs about impaired or distracted driving, here are 16 reminders. 1. It didn't take this drunk driver long to learn the meaning of "instant karma." via  reddit /  t_11 2. This person is going 75 miles per hour. Also, just in case the picture seems hypocritical, the photographer is in the back seat. via  reddit /  [deleted] 3. This isn't an abandoned van,

3 OF THE WEIRDEST CUSTOM CARS EVER

Image
1 Hummer Tank This is both awesome and completely ridiculous. I can’t imagine that it is practical but let’s be honest, it isn’t street legal so who cares? I do wonder if it does anything to improve this beast’s fuel economy… 2 Wooden Ferrari Back in the day, they began to make swimsuits out of wood and that idea didn’t last long. Equally surprising is that they would come up with a wooden car. Italian Livio De Marchi whitled one down and then put a boat engine in it….because, you know, why not….? -  3 VW Simmons Imagine if the whole Kiss Army went to the trouble of getting their cars decked out in such a way. Their rally might be somewhat more colourful and rowdy than the Oldsmobile club. Then again, they are probably both senior citizens by now. via: Source

#1. Giant Solar Flares NASA predicts a massive 2013 solar flare will fire towards the globe. We all love the sun, but this flame thrower is waiting to hurl unprecedented levels of magnetic energy at us. A major solar flare would drown the earth with high energy particles and radiation. The results of such an overexposure to cosmic energy would be lethal. Take a lesson from the bee, when you mess with magnetic energy, you’re asking for trouble. A giant solar flare could impact each of our individual brain activity. With additional natural disasters triggered, global power outages, and inevitable wide-spread panic, you may want to stock up on some 5 Hour Energy shots. This will be no time for a foggy head. #2. Soaring Sea Levels A steady increase in the planet's temperature will result in melting huge glaciers. Sea levels will rise and result in dangerous flooding of coasts across the globe. And that's just with modest glacial melting. If the West Antarctic Ice Sheet were to go d

Wow! This Traffic Jam Was Stuck In Belgian Forest For 70 Years!

Image
These spooky apocalyptic images are not a scene from “Walking Dead”, they were actually taken at one of the biggest car cemeteries in the world – the Chatillion Car Graveyard, Belgium. According to an urban legend these cars were left behind by US soldiers from World War II, who could not ship them back to the US so they decided to hide them in a forest until they could come back and retrieve them. The locals disagree and say that it’s simply an old car dump of vehicles made after the WWII. At one point there were four car graveyards in Chatillon with as many as 500 retro vehicles. Unfortunately, most of the cars were stolen or removed by the locals and due to environmental issues the whole graveyards was cleared in 2010. via: 1

Ford Boss 302SX Mustang Concept Unveiled

Image
Ford is thinking about adding a mid-range track car to their Boss 302S and 302R lineup. They quietly debuted a concept called the 302SX at the recent Performance Racing Industry trade show in Orlando, FL. Don’t let their modest unveiling fool you, this car is something to talk about. It borrows aspects of the new Cobra Jet drag car and the Boss 302R race car. With that step comes a jump from the standard 444 horsepower to more than 500 out of a built 5.0-liter V8. It also means a slew of improved parts like the six-speed transmission out of the 302R.  Upgraded exhaust, oil and fuel systems offer the engine help while a fully adjustable coilover suspension, adjustable front and rear sway bars, camber/caster plates, Brembo brakes and racing slicks deliver track-gripping performance. The interior is also trimmed back including lightweight seats, and a quick release steering wheel. Proving that this is a serious track machine, as if that isn’t enough, Ford is also tossing in a system to rec

Future BMW M8

Image
According to M GmbH boss Friedrich Nitschke, the M GmbH will unveil the… BMW M8 2016. Thus, the M8 is probably suitable for the 100th Birthday presents and have a twin-turbo V8 under the hood, which is to be able to make about 600 hp. Since the car in about 3 seconds from 0 – 100 km / h sprint and will have a top speed of 322 km / h is probably an ultra lightweight body as Carbon fiber (carbon) are used. Rumor has it that the vehicle has not been approved by the BMW board, but also knows the Board that in the revival of the legendary M1 is a huge potential lies. Maybe we’ll see the car as a “concept” already in 2015, before then production (probably in limited numbers) starts a year later. source:cars-show.net

5 Most Expensive Vintage Cars

Image
We all know there are cars, and then there are cars. For the automobile enthusiast, some vehicles just rise far above the rest. They’re not just transportation. They are art, inspiration, beauty – on wheels. Here’s five of the priciest pieces of “art on wheels” that you’ll ever find. 1. 1962 Ferrari 250 LM Only 32 of these babies were ever produced, and at the last auction, they went for $6.9 million a pop. 2. 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe If you thought #1 was rare, you were mistaken. Only 6 of the Shelby Coupes from 1965 ever made it to market, and they each rode off on a dazzling $7.25 million dollars, making it one of the most expensive vintage cars ever. 3. 1904 Rolls-Royce 10 HP A true vintage cars beauty, one of 17, this car is the oldest known Rolls-Royce in existence. It is not just art, but history. 4. 1929 Mercedes-Benz 38/250 SSK The most widely-produced car on this list (35 were made), it was the last car Ferdinand Porsche designed for Mercedes-Benz before he left the co

Camaro, Mustang, Challenger Having an ‘Off Year’

Image
You might want to think twice about buying a new muscle car from Dodge, Chevrolet or Ford this year. Consumer Reports released its latest reliability survey last week and with the exception of a few surprises it was more of the same. Japanese automakers performed the best while the Detroit Three took a bit of a tumble. Among other findings the sporty-car segment is one area of interest on this year’s survey. According to the consumer-focused magazine this is an especially volatile vehicle segment when it comes to quality. Supporting this claim are the latest scores. Last year 13 of 16 sporty cars had at least average reliability or better. This year only 11 out of 21 made the grade, quite a back-slide. Consumer Reports said “American muscle cars are having an off year.” That segment includes, of course, the Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang. Against the odds Nissan’s 370Z topped the quality chart. Making this feat all the more impressive is that last year the two-do

1969 Dodge Charger General Lee

Image
They were just good ol’ boys, never meaning no harm, but for seven years, the Duke boys of Hazzard County made a weekly jump into the living rooms of millions of television viewers as they piloted a seemingly indestructible Dodge Charger affectionately called the General Lee. During the run of this highly successful television series, it is estimated that as many as 320 (perhaps even more) 1968 to 1970 Chargers were catapulted across rivers, over police cars, through construction sites or anywhere else one could imagine a car flying in the air, only to succumb to the rather hard landings. One rumor was that towards the end of production, the supply of fresh General Lees had dried out and people who owned even the most derelict examples were able to raise the asking price, as the production company was desperately in need of cars. There were survivors, however – the lucky few cars saved from the rigors of being chased by the dimwitted Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane, who himself was being egg

Nissan’s New Coupe

Andy Palmer, executive vice president of Nissan is announcing unveiling of a new sports car at the Tokyo Motor Show which will be held from 22nd November to 1st December this year. With this car Nissan plans to present a direct rival to the other sports cars running on back wheels such as Toyota GT86, Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S. Palmer regards these three cars to be appropriate for men in mid-life crisis and sets full accent on the new coming coupe. The Nissan coupe is meant for young people according to Palmer and is therefore set to become more popular than any of the existing sports cars with similar performance. The new Nissan is named Z35 and with the 3.7-liters V6 engine produces 330 hp, such as in the 370Z. There is some information regarding the engine: the Nissan Z35 could also run on a more powerful brand new 2.5-liters engine with four cylinders featuring turbo charging and direct injection and delivering more than V6. This kind of engine is present also in the Nissan Pathfin

Render: Lamborghini Sinistro by Maher Thebian

Image
We’ve brought you some stunning concept creations from Maher Thebian in the past and his latest one is arguably the most insane and impressive to date. Maher is dubbing his latest project the Lamborghini Sinistro Concept and as with all of his designs, it’s simply out of this world! As its name suggests, the Lamborghini Sinistro Concept has been created to be just that, a Lamborghini, and consequently it features all the insane styling you’d expect from any Lamborghini. However, whereas Lamborghini only turns the extreme scale up to 10, Maher has turned it up way past 11 with this design. As the following images show, the Lamborghini Sinistro Concept seems to have a similar size to the relatively compact Lamborghini Sesto Elemento and features a few trademark Lamborghini features such as its centre-exiting exhaust and Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV inspired rear wing and diffuser. Apart from those details, the Lamborghini Sinistro Concept features completely bespoke body work incorp
